My name is Emily and I'm a freelance journalist and writer. After six years of working at Sky News, I decided to take the plunge and go freelance. Exciting? Yes. Scary? Also yes. 

​

You'll probably see me writing about anything and everything, but I'm particularly passionate about women's issues, money topics, culture, fashion and travel.

• Won an RTS award for a story I pitched and co-produced

• Joined our award-nominated live blogging team as it was set up and helped our blogs become the top clickers on our website 

• Covered all the biggest stories of the last few years, from breaking the start of the Ukraine war to the US election results, the Israel-Hamas conflict, the fall of Kabul and the coronavirus pandemic

• Produced my own agenda-setting stories on everything from knife crime to cancer care to the nightlife industry

• Regularly produced original features for our popular Money blog, with one of my pieces becoming the best-performing of our Weekend Money series.

In my free time I'm often reading, playing badminton, taking a yoga class, hosting friends, trying to find London's best restaurants and seeking out the neighbourhood cats (my personal favourite hobby).
